BOX12 is a 36 minute workout consisting of 12, 3 minute rounds that combine boxing and functional fitness exercises. We recommend that you attend a BOX12 Class so our BOX12 instructors can show you how the concept works and take you through a 36 minute session.

Leon Johnson
Leon has been a fitness instructor since 2016, in his spare time he enjoys training and competing in amateur boxing. Leon teaches H.I.I.T & Abs and BOX12 at the club.
Ben Anderson
Ben loves working at Waterside as he feels all of the staff and members are lovely which creates a positive working experience. Ben is a qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer and enjoys taking members through their personal Gym Appointments as well as teaching on the main and kids timetable. Feel free to ask for his help, he's always happy to do so.
Monica Lorusso
As a fully qualified Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, Monica's goal is to make sure that clients see the results.
She helps her clients to improve their cardiovascular fitness, gain muscle, lose weight or improve their general health.
Niki Travena-Carey
Niki believes exercise is a way of life not a chore so she strives to make all her classes lively and fun, whilst of course still enabling you to get the best results from your training and to develop your body. Niki's personal favourite quote is: "Fit is a way of life, not a destination".
What is Box12
- BOX12 is a 36-minute workout consisting of 12, 3-minute rounds that combine boxing and functional fitness exercises.
- A new round starts every 3 minutes, there’s no need to rely on anyone else, just turn up when you want and start on round 1.
- You will be guided by our helpful on-screen demonstrations which will inspire you to achieve and learn the basics of fitness boxing combined with functional exercises.
- Your workout can be tailored to your fitness level using integrated and wearable MYZONE technology, providing real-time feedback.
- A workout will see you working at around 80-90% of your physical capacity and burning anywhere between 500 and 700 calories.
- Please provide your own Boxing gloves when using the circuit or attending classes.
- Learn how to use the circuit by attending a dedicated BOX12 Group Induction. Boxing gloves are provided for inductions.

How to book
You can book your BOX12 group induction via the Members’ Online Portal or via the Waterside App. Gloves and MYZONE belts are provided for your induction, but if you have your own and prefer to bring them along, please do. Book your induction to experience BOX12 and all its fantastic benefits.

You can use it to get the most out of your BOX12 training. With real time feedback you will see exactly what effort you are putting during your workout.
A fast moving, interactive session that switches from functional fitness to boxing training every 3 minutes. The on-screen demonstrations will guide you complemented by audio and timer cues to tell you exactly when to change exercise. A full circuit takes just 36 minutes so you can easily fit into your training schedule
Yes, we offer a huge saving on MYZONE MZ-Switch belts for all Waterside members. They are available to buy in club at reception and come with a guarantee.
No previous boxing experience is required. We do advise all members to attend a Group Induction, so our instructors can show you how to use the circuit, the basic stances and assist with any adaptions you may need to add.
